Our mountain cuisine
Schlutzer (spinach-filled pasta), bread dumplings, Kaiserschmarrn (torn pancakes), and more: at the Schlernhaus, we prepare all our dishes with pride. Harald passionately cooks up a storm, while Silvia is responsible for the sweet treats. Our cuisine is traditional, and we place special emphasis on our dishes being homemade, as well as the use of local and seasonal ingredients. Ready-made products? Not on our plates! Do you follow a vegan, gluten-free, or lactose-free diet? Then you’ve come to the right place. We offer delicacies to suit your needs. But please be sure to let us know your dietary requirements when you make your enquiry so that we can stock up on the right supplies.
Dining at the hut
Whether it’s a well-deserved rest stop on a day trip or a cosy evening after a long day of hiking, you’ll find seasonal lunch and dinner dishes as well as changing daily specials on our menu. If you stay the night, a fortifying breakfast buffet awaits you in the morning, including bread, butter, jams, cakes, yoghurt, sausage, cheese, and much more.
Deliveries via the material cable car
Everything that needs to be transported to the Schlernhaus takes a slightly different delivery route: our material cable car. It operates about three times a week during the season and runs from morning until early afternoon. The process is tedious: all products have to be collected, loaded up, transported to the valley station, and reloaded into the hoist box. Once at the top, we reload the goods into a “caterpillar wagon”, which we use to cover the last few metres to the storage cellar in the Schlernhaus.
